Montgomery County Police Officer Thomas J. Bomba has died after being fatally shot in a Silver Spring, Maryland parking garage today.
Bomba was either encountered or was responding to a calls about a “disorderly subject” in the parking garage.
Police have not released a suspect description, but NBC 4 is reporting that Bomba was wearing a body camera.
“To say it’s an all hands on deck — that’s an understatement,” according to police spokesman tom Jordan.
Bomba leaves behind a wife and 2 children.

News outlets in Montgomery County, Maryland on Monday were reporting that a police officer had been rushed to hospital after being shot.
The officer’s condition has not been widely reported.
According to The Washington Post, the shooting took place in in downtown Silver Spring, which is just a few miles from the District line.
Citing information released by Montgomery County police, The Post is reporting that the officer had made a radio call to report a disorderly subject on a rooftop. Police say the backup officers found the first officer shot when they arrived.
The officer was taken to a hospital, and the area is on lockdown while a search is underway.
“We’re looking for suspects as we’re trying to piece this together,” said C. Thomas Jordan, a spokesman for the Montgomery County Police Department. Jordan said he did not know how many people were involved in the shooting, The Post reported.
NBC reporter Shomari Stone tweeted that police were reporting no search was in progress for a suspect. The shooting happened at Ellsworth Drive & Fenton street.
The immediate area is home to three schools, which remained under lockdown. The schools include: East Silver Spring Elementary, Sligo Creek Elementary and Silver Spring International Middle School.
