A gang of teens ruthlessly punched and kicked a 15-year-old girl on a sidewalk in Brooklyn Thursday afternoon, cops said.
The wild assault in Crown Heights was captured on video, which police released early Friday.
The teenage girl was chased to the corner of Utica Ave. and Sterling Place around 4:10 p.m. before being knocked to the ground, police said. Video then shows a horde of teens descend upon her.
She curls herself up in a fetal position as the gang repeatedly kicks and punches her, according to the video.
Her marauders not only beat her, but also stole her sneakers, a cellphone and a debit card, cops said. The gang then ran off, everyone in different directions.
The victim was rushed to Kings County Hospital, and is in stable condition, authorities said.
Investigators believe the attack was in retaliation to an earlier incident that the victim participated in, police sources told the Daily News.
“We will never tolerate this violence in our city,” NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan wrote on Twitter. Detectives “need the help of every New Yorker so they can arrest those responsible.”
Police released the video, along with several stills, in hopes of identifying the various suspects. Anyone with information is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls are kept confidential.
