A Michigan woman will stand trial for falsely accusing an Eaton County Sheriff’s deputy of raping her.

According to the Lansing State Journal, Kellie Bartlett is facing 10 felonies and four misdemeanors after she filed a complaint with Michigan State Police in March of 2017 saying a sheriff’s deputy sexually assaulted her. On Friday Bartlett waived her right to a preliminary hearing and now the case has been moved to a circuit court for trial.

An investigation into Bartlett’s complaint determined that she was a “willing and consenting partner” and found she had been in a relationship with the deputy from just over two years.

Bartlett had been an employee at the sheriff’s office from 2008 until December of 2017 when she was fired.

Bartlett was recently arrested in October of 2017 for stalking and violating her bond conditions.

Last month Bartlett told the State Journal she continued to contact the deputy because he owed her money.

The deputy in the case has not been identified and will not face any charges. He was never taken off patrol or put on administrative leave when the investigation was open.
