An Arkansas police officer is on administrative leave after shooting a man who stabbed a hostage with a knife and threatened to kill another.
Jacksonville Police Sergeant Ryan Wright and Officer Jordan Cline were involved in the shooting, which was captured on recently-released body camera footage.
According to NWA Online, 50-year-old Stephen Dove was killed after he stabbed one individual and held another hostage.
Wright and Cline were dispatched a the mobile home on Saturday night and found Dove holding 49-year-old James Parrish hostage with a knife as they stood over the body of 47-year-old Harold Munnerlyn, who had suffered a severe laceration.
Ordering Dove to drop the knife, the officers were forced to open fire after the suspect refused. He was mortally wounded and died at the scene.
Cline has been released to duty, while Wright remains on leave.
