Video: Officer attacked in Washington DC, Metro police seeking public help identifying suspects

Washington DC Metro police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying four persons of interest in reference to a violent attack and robbery on one of their officers. The assault occurred near the Waterfront Metro Station.

Per the Metro PD press release:

The suspects approached the victim, who is a special police officer working inside an establishment at the listed location. The victim and suspects exchanged words. The suspects then began punching the victim. During the altercation, one of the suspects grabbed the victim’s wallet. The suspects then fled on foot from the establishment.

Anyone who has information regarding this case should call police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. Crime Solvers of Washington, DC currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.

    This is a shocking attack on a police officer and should not be tolerated. Whilst I recognise that to some degree such attacks are a pay back against perceived and in many cases, actual police violations against citizens. However, this is not the way to deal with it.
