Wife of Orlando night club terror attack arrested by FBI in California

Noor Salman was arrested outside her home Monday, in connection with the mass shooting carried out in Orlando, by agents from the San Francisco FBI field office according to Fox News. She moved to Contra Costa, California shortly after the terror attack in Orlando.

During the June 2016 attack perpetrated by her husband Omar Mateen, 49 victims were killed and dozens more were wounded. It is considered the deadliest mass shooting in modern history.

Salman is charged with obstruction of justice and more charges are expected against her.

When the shooting took place she claimed that she knew nothing about her husband’s plans, “I was unaware of everything,” she claimed.

According to The New York Times, prosecutors have been weighing charges against her since the terror attack took place. After being questioned for hours in the aftermath of the attack police believed she was not telling the truth about her husband’s plans.

Charges were filed in the Middle District of Florida who has jurisdiction in the case and following her initial appearance in court she will be sent back to the Middle District of Florida to continue her trial.
