US Marshal’s wife charged for framing his ex-fiancee in ‘rape fantasy’ Craigslist case

The Californian wife of a US Marshal is going to prison after she framed her husband’s ex in perpetrating a series of false-flag “rape fantasy” assaults on Craigslist.

Ontario woman Angela Diaz originally had suggested that her husband’s ex-fiancee -30-year-old Michelle Hadley- had been stalking her and responding to “rape fantasy” ads on Craigslist under the guise of Diaz. During the course of the ad’s lifespan, several men -including a minor- showed up to commit the brutal sex acts.

When Hadley was arrested for the incident, she faced multiple felonies, including stalking, criminal threats and attempted forcible rape, facing a life sentence in prison if convicted.

After a few months, however, authorities later discovered that the allegations pointing to Hadley for the crime had been incorrect. It had turned out that Diaz -in an effort to put away her husband’s ex-lover – had framed Hadley and done the deed herself.

Since the discovery, Hadley was released from her over three-month stint in jail, with Diaz being arrested on charges of kidnapping, false imprisonment and perjury.

Diaz had used eight email accounts via Virtual Private Networks, which give the appearance of an email being sent from another IP address. Diaz had done this for some time before one IP address in the emails linked the crime to Diaz. Upon further investigation, more emails were discovered to have been send from Diaz.

The case was blown wide open after Diaz was investigated for altering a paycheck, wherein authorities then discovered she had also faked cervical cancer and a pregnancy, impersonated an attorney, forged doctor’s notes and impersonate two of her husband’s ex-girlfriends via email. She faces 23 years in prison if convicted.

Hadley had been forced to drop out of her MBA program and has since been afraid to leave her home, despite being seen on Monday when an Orange County judge dismissed all charges against her.

“Obviously, this has been a huge nightmare for me, probably the most traumatic experience of my life,” Hadley said outside of the courthouse. “I’m glad it’s finally over, and I can move on with my life.”

According to The Orange County Register, District Attorney Tony Rackauckas said Hadley is an “innocent victim of a diabolical scheme.”

“As important as the filing of charges against Ms. Diaz is the dismissal of the previous complaint and full exoneration of Michelle Hadley,” Rackauckas said. “I wanted to make sure … that Ms. Hadley is cleared in every possible way- in the courtroom, and in the court of public opinion.”

Hadley had dated US Marshal Ian Diaz from 2013-2015 before the federal lawman married Angela Diaz.
