Maricopa County, AZ Sheriff Joe Arpaio sent 520 armed members of his volunteer ‘posse’ out to patrol schools today.  The volunteers will be augmented with canine patrols and SWAT officers as they are available.  At times, some of the ‘posse’ will carry automatic weapons.  For up-to-date news accounts of this story, photos and to post a comment, please access the links below:

  1. Armed Posse, are you kidding me? He sent armed volunteers into schools with children? If you have no school enforcement experience you have no idea how volatile that really is. Teachers fight, parents fight, kids fight…how long before one of the posse shoots someone. Do none of you know what school police really do?
