Incoming Florida Sheriff Considers Removing Tasers From Schools

While neighboring Volusia County just recently added Tasers to the arsenal that deputies carry when working in schools, incoming Sheriff Jim Manfre of Flagler County is considering removing them.  Manfre is set to meet with School Superintendent Janet Valentine to discuss the issue of Tasers in the schools.  Most agencies see it as another non-lethal weapon that officers have at their disposal.  For up-to-date news accounts of this story, photos and to post a comment, please access the links below:
