As a retired deputy in the State of Florida, I had five years as a School Resource Officer. My worst nightmare and greatest fear was that this would happen at one of my schools. We trained constantly and drilled constantly to be prepared for such an act. Even though I am no longer a Law Enforcement Officer, I still feel the pain and sorrow that the responding officers are dealing with now. No training or preparation can make the hurt and desperation that you feel, when children are hurt.

My condolences to all the parents for all the children that are no longer with us. All officers and people involved need to reflect and somehow come to terms with what they have seen. Your quick response and care for the children and adults that survived will help hopefully with your psychology concerns.

God be with all of you.

  2. Any Police Agency that has not trained for , Rapid Responce to an Active Shooter. Need to do so NOW !
