LAW & ORDER
TAMPA Lawyers for www.leoaffairs.comon Thursday filed court
papers attempting to quash subpoenas asking for information that would identify
people who anonymously post messages on the Web site.
The subpoenas were served
by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's officials filed
suit against several unidentified deputies who they say posted racist and
sexist messages.
Jennifer D'Angelo, who represents the Web site, said a judge most
likely will schedule a hearing where both sides can present their arguments.
The motion to quash the
subpoenas says anonymous speech is protected under the First Amendment.
