MADISON LAKE, Minnesota — A Madison Lake man is facing his ninth DUI charge after he allegedly was caught driving a lawnmower while intoxicated on city streets.
Madison Lake Police reportedly observed Thomas Edward Grothe, 60, riding a lawnmower erratically on city streets July 20. A breathalyzer indicated Grothe had a breath alcohol content of 0.28 and 0.27.
Grothe was charged this week with one count of gross misdemeanor DWI and one count of gross misdemeanor driving after license cancellation.
Grothe has eight prior DUI convictions, according to the police report.
