CNN anchor blames cops who are military veterans for Baltimore riots

By LEO Affairs Staff:

CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin is coming under heavy fire from both military and law enforcement groups after comments she made about veterans who become cops. While talking about the issue of retraining police with Democratic congressman Elijah Cummings, Baldwin said “I love our nation’s veterans, but some of them are coming back from war, they don’t know the communities, and they are ready to do battle.”

Senator Cummings doesn’t miss a beat agreeing with her and said “they definitely need more training, better training, they need better recruitment, and that’s why I’ve been asking the DOJ to come in and do a Pattern or Practice investigation.”

This marks a decided turn for CNN, who typically keeps its bashing to law enforcement, not veterans.

The backlash was instantaneous on social media. Here are just some of the responses via Twitter:

However, it’s clear her apology has not been accepted.

  2. Our Veterans deserve FULL apology. They put their lives on the line for our country.
