All charges against the remaining three Baltimore Police Officers in the Freddie Gray case were dropped Wednesday morning during a pretrial motions hearing for BPD officer Garret Miller.

This brings an end to the case without a single conviction for any of the various charges.

Grey was a black man who was critically injured in the back of a police van in April 2015.

Prosecutors’ decision Wednesday comes after a judge had already acquitted three of the six officers charged in the case, including the van driver and another officer who was the highest-ranking of the group.

A fourth officer had his case heard by a jury, who deadlocked and the judge declared a mistrial.

Prosecutors had said Gray was illegally arrested after he ran away from a bike patrol officer and the officers failed to buckle Gray into a seat belt or call a medic when he indicated he wanted to go to a hospital.

The death added fuel to the growing Black Lives Matter movement and caused turmoil in Baltimore, including large protests and the worst riots the city had seen in decades.

Sgt. Alicia White was scheduled for trial in October and Officer William Porter was scheduled for retrial in September.

  1. Now full reinstatement for these officers with back pay and no loss of benefits or time. About time.

  2. Marilyn Mosby should be removed from office immediately for making false allegations against officers

  3. Disbar at a bare minimum. She, like the President recently, stoked needless violence by judging officers before any FACTS were known. She made a political speech the day she announced trumped up charges against these officers. She did not act as a prosecutor. She acted as an activist. DISBAR

  4. This is wonderful news. Now if the officers could only return to their normal lives before. Unfortunately, that will not be possible. Ms. Mosby’s small minded incompetence has ruined life as they knew it. They all deserve compensation (at Least as much as the city threw at Freddie’s family — before these trials). Mosby should be disbarred for misuse of her powers. Maybe the city will learn NOT to vote for Democrats. They have caused the city to recede rather than progress. All promises with no follow-through. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Aren’t they getting tired of being fooled??

    • What a shame these officers have had to go through all this! Doesn’t this DA realize these guys risk their lives for us every day?? I’ve never been to Baltimore, but this District Attorney is an embarrassment to their city and I would think the citizens there would demand better representation from their officials in high power.

  5. Mosby is one stridently biased ignoramus, incapable of fact based analysis that is required of a prosecutor. Go back to law school until you get that part you missed about facts.

  6. The Duke Lacrosse prosecutor (and Nancy grace or whatever her name is) are now looking like the 2nd biggest idiot in the prosecution world.

  7. The only thing that sucks is that two black officers records will be clear with charges dropped for not enough evidence mane wiped from the record and the others show tried and innocent .

  8. I Believe having all the facts BEFORE you charge someone….anyone with a CRIME.
That would be Basic Law 101
I am not an attorney…… I would have to ask my Daughter as she is an attorney!
Maybe I am just thinking that is BASIC COMMON SENSE 101

  9. How does this woman stay in such a responsible position?? Somebody extremely powerful in high places must be behind her , , , , and pulling the strings, determined to undermine our wonderful law enforcement officers. Do these people not want the protection police officers provide for us every day??!!

    • I’ve been wondering that myself. A district attorney who routinely falsely accuses our police officers
