A Stanislaus, CA county sheriff’s deputy and a civilian were shot to death Thursday as the deputy attempted to serve an eviction notice at an apartment complex in Modesto.  The suspect then holed up in the apartment, as police swat teams secured the area.  Later the apartment went up in flames.  For up-to-date news accounts of this story, photos and to post a comment, please access the links below:
