Police organize at scene of shooting.
A Stanislaus, CA county sheriff’s deputy and a civilian were shot to death Thursday as the deputy attempted to serve an eviction notice at an apartment complex in Modesto. The suspect then holed up in the apartment, as police swat teams secured the area. Later the apartment went up in flames.
