Charlotte County, FL Sheriff’s candidate Ed Pope thought a raffle would be a good fundraiser.  It turned out that it is illegal for candidates to use raffles as fundraisers.  Someone filed a complaint with the Sheriff’s Department who in turn referred the complaint to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement who is now investigating.  For up-to-date news accounts of this story, photos and to post a comment, please access the links below:

    Pope said in a Radio interview that he was man enough to admit when he wrong.. The problem is ignorance of the Law for a civlian means jail time but for him he thinks hes above the law and didn’t admit he was wrong til he got caught. Just like a cop/wannabe Politican/criminal..Same as a person robing a 7-eleven and when the cops show up he say I changed my mind because I was unaware of the law..LOL A cop unaware of the Law..Makes me LOL
