In another blow to the image of the Secret Service, an Agent was arrested in Miami Friday morning after Miami Police found him passed out on a sidewalk. Agent Aaron Francis Engler was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest Without Violence, both misdemeanors. Police found Engler drunk and passed out on a sidewalk after President Barack Obama had left Miami. They attempted to wake him, and as they went to pat him down, he became combative and was arrested. It may be considered a “distinction without a difference” but Engler is NOT a Special Agent of the Secret Service. He is a Uniformed Division Officer. An ABC news report at

says, “Engler is a member of the uniformed division of the agency and not assigned to presidential protection, a spokesman for the Secret Service in Washington told ABC News.”
