Former Hillsborough County Sheriff's Deputy William Todd Best
Former Hillsborough County, FL Sheriff’s Deputy William Todd Best was acquitted Friday of having a sexual relationship with a then 15 year old girl. Prosecutors presented over 800 text messages exchanged between the two, as well as had the now 17 year old testify. The defense brought out the inconsistencies and admitted lies in the girl’s statements and the lack of physical evidence. Best was a 10 year veteran of the agency when he was charged and fired.
