Due to the Coral Gables Police Department’s Fraternal Order of Police Lodge not being able to negotiate a contract with the City Manager, it was left to the city commission to set the conditions of a new 1 year contract. The commission doubled the officer’s pension contribution from 5 t0 10%. They also reduced the maximum retirement percentage from 75% to 67.5%.
