St Petersburg Officers Receive National Medal Of Valor At White House

This week five St Petersburg police officers were honored by the federal government.  They were selected for their heroic actions in January 2011 during the incident in which Sgt Tom Baitinger and Officer Jeffrey Yaslowitz were shot and killed.  All received the Public Safety Medal of Valor which is one of the highest awards that a first responder can receive.  Baitinger’s widow, Patti accepted his award for her late husband.  For up-to-date news accounts of this story, photos and to post a comment, please access the links below:
