STUART — Here’s a question you probably should not ask a law enforcement officer:
You wanna smoke a joint with me?
But it’s a query that Anthony Rocha, 48, reportedly made Nov. 14 to a Martin County sheriff’s deputy, an arrest affidavit states.
Investigators were sent to a Publix grocery store in the 5800 block of Federal Highway in Stuart about an “unwanted guest.”

On the way, they were told a man urinated in front of the store and started yelling at a worker when asked to leave.
A deputy found the man, identified as Rocha, at a Tropical Smoothie Cafe in the 6100 block of Federal Highway.
According to the affidavit, Rocha “continued to belligerently yell at the crowd including racial slurs.”
“While talking with Anthony he asked (a deputy) if he wanted to smoke a joint with him,” the affidavit states.
It’s unlikely the deputy took Rocha up on his offer.

Rocha said he had marijuana in his backpack.
Investigators found a pipe with black residue in it.
Rocha, listed as homeless, was arrested on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge.
